The Solicitor’s Office primary purpose is to provide legal services to the City of Revere, which includes the Mayor, the City Council, City Departments, and Boards and Commissions. We advise the City on a variety of matters to help decrease potential legal liabilities and to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. We are responsible for all litigation to which the City of Revere is a party.
In order to process your claim, a Notice of Claim form must be submitted in-person or by mail to the City Clerk or City Solicitor's Office, or by email to spelletier@revere.org. Please be sure to include the following in your completed form:
Your name, address, and phone number;
The time and date of the incident,
The location of the incident,
Any itemized receipts for costs associated with the incident, and
Any photographs, videos, or other supporting information.
Upon receiving your completed Notice of Claim, the Solicitor's Office will investigate with the appropriate City departments and outside agencies, if applicable. Please understand that our office requires sufficient time to complete the investigation.

Where can I receive legal advice for private matters involving tenant/landlord matters?
As legal counsel to the City of Revere, the City Solicitor’s Office is prohibited from providing legal representation or legal advice to members of the public. Therefore, if residents of the City of Revere have a private dispute, the Solicitor’s Office cannot advise them on how to proceed. Residents are advised to consult with a private attorney.
Can I cut or trim the limbs of my neighbor’s tree? Or a City tree?
The City is unable to provide legal advice for neighbor-related questions.

How can I get something notarized?
The City of Revere employs several Notaries Public, and rules and hours for services can be inquired about within each department. You can also check with your local bank and other financial institutions in the city.
How long does it take to process my claim?
Once a notice of claim has been received by the City Solicitor's Office, the City begins an investigation into the incident. This includes consulting with pertinent department heads and/or outside agencies. Depending on the nature of the claim, a response can take anywhere between 30 to 120 days.

Can I get an interpretation or translation?
The Solicitor’s Office does not yet provide interpretation or translation services for Notices of Claims and suggests consulting with a private attorney.
