Election Information
Mission
The Election Department serves as a link to all of the residents of the City of Revere by providing a variety of services. One of which is the annual City census that is used for enrollment in Revere Public Schools, proof of residency for tax abatements, veteran’s benefits, housing and related benefits for the elderly, proof of citizenship if applicable, and federal funding for vital programs.
In 2010 every household in the City of Revere will be mailed two census forms; the annual City census in January and the 2010 Federal Census in March. It is important that all residents answer both census forms.
The Federal Census is safe, easy, and confidential and has just 10 quick questions. The Federal census determines the amount of funding the City receives for school budgets specifically distribution of Title 1 and special education funding, college tuition grant and loan programs, hospitals, child-care, senior citizen centers, provides public transportation and affects our voice in Congress through the number of seats in the House of Representatives as well as the redistricting of state legislatures.
Our primary goal is to promote voter registration and participation in the voting process. Through the Motor Voter Law you may register to vote in person at any City or Town hall in the Commonwealth, at the Registry of Motor Vehicles or at any State Agency. You may have a Mail in registration form sent to you by calling 781-286-8200.
