application of Robert J. Bolognese for permission to further expand a nonconforming use and structure on Lot A at 1456 North Shore Road, Revere.
C-08-15 Hearing called, as ordered upon the special permit application of Bell Atlantic Mobile of Mass Corp. LTD, d/b/a Verizon Wireless for permission to install telecommunications antennas and equipment on the roof of an existing building on Lot 135 at 510-515 Revere Beach Boulevard, Revere.
Hearing called, as ordered upon the application of Nationalgrid for a request for a pole relocation on Broadway and Ward Street within the City of Revere.

Motions
08-304 Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the Mayor request the DPW Superintendent to remove all debris and non-functioning or non-utilized equipment surrounding the DPW facility. Further, that any and all equipment deemed non-functioning or non-utilized be sold as scrap metal, parts or sold as is.
08-305 Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the Mayor provide a report to the City Council on all work conducted by the DPW ( not outsourced ) for 2007 and 2008 to include, but not limited to, the number of emergency calls for water main breaks, potholes filled, trees removed, sidewalk repairs, sidewalks rebuilt, and catch basin repairs. This report shall include a corresponding location date and time for each work order performed. Additionally, that a list of men and women for each department and their job description be provided to the City Council. If this information is formatted on excel please send a disk or by email to the City Clerk and the City Council.
08-306 Motion presented by Councillor Novoselsky: That the Mayor instruct the Superintendent of Public Works to have the traffic light contractor relocate/remove the free-standing traffic light at the southwest corner of the intersection of North Shore Road and Shirley Avenue. It is time to think about relocating it closer to the fence of the St. Jean's Credit Union parking lot so as not to impede HP access or put the required second light on the aluminum pole. This free-standing traffic light has been hit by turning trucks numerous times. Please make this happen in the interest of public safety.
08-307 Motion presented by Councillor Patch: That the Mayor request the Sign Department to have memorial square sign installed at 46 Sigourney Street in honor of Leo Zarba, a Korean War Veteran, on behalf of his father, Salvatore Zarba.
08-308 Motion presented by Councillor Patch: That the Mayor request Verizon to check pole #2731 in front of 493 Malden Street. The pole appears to be leaning at a dangerous angle.
08-309 Motion presented by Councillor Patch: That the Mayor instruct the Police Chief and the police mechanic, to have all police vehicles, including, but not limited to, take home vehicles to be fueled at the DPW yard until they have the new gas tank installed at the new police station for accountability.
08-310 Motion presented by Councillors Rizzo and Patch: That the Mayor request the Superintendent of Public Works to repair the sidewalk in front of 7 Joey Road. This sidewalk was damaged due to the removal of two trees in front of the house over two years ago. (Rule 37 Motion)
08-311 Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the Mayor request the Superintendent of Public Works to appear before the City Council to discuss DPW operations and the current gasoline policy. Other issues to be discussed include gasoline pump break-ins, the control of all city operated gasoline pumps, and the broken pump at the Old Police Station.
08-312 Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the Mayor request the City Auditor to appear before the City Council to discuss the Melanson Heath and Company audit.
08-313 Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the Mayor institute a city wide policy which would prevent all employees from using their private vehicle to conduct city business, excluding in the case of a state of emergency. Further, that no employee be allowed to fill up their private vehicle under any circumstance.
08-314 Motion presented by Councillor Correggio: That the Mayor request the DPW to remove the dead tree located at 169 Revere Street and the decayed tree Oxford Park in the interest of public safety. (Rule 37 Motion)
08-315 Motion presented by Councillor Patch: That the Mayor request the DPW to remove two trees and repair the sidewalk at 15 Geneva Street. (Rule 37 Motion)
08-316 Motion presented by Councillor Patch: That the Mayor request that all non-union contracts negotiated between the City of Revere and certain employees, such as that of the Chief of Police, be placed on file and available for inspection in the Office of the City Clerk.
08-317 Motion presented by Councillor Novoselsky: That the Mayor request DCR and/or the State Police to install crosswalk signs "Yield to Pedestrians in Crosswalk" markers in the middle of the roadway at each crosswalk on Ocean Avenue between Beach Street and Chester Avenue. In addition, request the State Police to regularly monitor this section of Ocean Avenue for speeding and crosswalk violators. This request is made in the interest of public safety. A copy of this request shall be sent to the State House delegation for assistance.
08-318 Motion presented by Councillor Novoselsky: That the Mayor include on the sidewalk repair list 36 Garfield Avenue.
08-319 Motion presented by Councillor Colella: That the Mayor be requested to communicate with the MBTA, DCR and the City of Revere Public Works Department to Cease and Desist from dumping construction debris and beach debris on the North Parking Lot site on Ocean Avenue and immediately remove all of the dumped materials from this site within thirty days. This debris may contain hazardous materials and may be a public health hazard.
08-320 Motion presented by Councillor Colella: That the Mayor be requested to provide the City Council with a status report relative to C.O. 08-219 relative to the unpaid real estate taxes, water and sewer charges and license fees due the City of Revere from Wonderland Park; further C.O. 08-278 relative to the overgrown vegetation and damaged fence at the property located at the intersection of West Street, Ocean Avenue and Revere Beach Boulevard; further C.O. 08-279 relative to the overgrown vegetation at Fustolo Development property; further C.O. 08-280 relative to the installation of screening around motor vehicle storage of G+J Towing Company. Copies of said council orders are attached.
08-321 Motion presented by Councillor Powers: That the Mayor request the DCR to remove the litter, debris, and other materials from the North Lot on Ocean Avenue. The lot in its present condition constitutes a serious health problem for the residents of the lower Revere Street area.
08-322 Motion presented by Councillors Powers, Colella, and Kimmerle: That a Certificate of Commendation be presented to Thomas Dane for his recent discoveries and work as an astronomer at Harvard University over the past thirty years.
08-323 Motion presented by Councillor Colella: That the Mayor be requested to arrange for a meeting between the Division of Local Services of the Department of Revenue of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City Council Ways and Means Committee to discuss implementation of quarterly budget projections by the City of Revere to enable the City to respond timely to any unanticipated financial problems which may arise during the current and future fiscal years.
08-324 Motion presented by Councillor Colella: That the Mayor be requested to arrange for a meeting between the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA) and the City Council Ways and Means Committee to discuss Worker’s Compensation, Property, Casualty and Health Insurance programs offered by MIIA which may benefit the City of Revere.
08-325 Motion presented by Councillors Haas and Kimmerle: That the Mayor request the DPW to repair the sidewalk at 77 Crest Avenue in the interest of public safety. (Rule 37 Motion)
08-326 Motion presented by Councillor Haas: That the Mayor request the DCR to change the crosswalk signalization in front of the Jack Satter House on Revere Beach Boulevard from automatic to manual. The current automatic setting causes traffic back ups along the boulevard.
08-327 Motion presented by Councillor Haas: That the Mayor request the DPW to remove the tree grates on the sidewalks along Broadway. Many of the grates are broken and pose a public safety hazard for pedestrians. (Rule 37 Motion)

Motion presented by Councillor Haas: That the Mayor request the Director of the
Revere Housing Authority, Linda M. Shaw, to appear before the City Council to
address the various health concerns and conditions of the public housing
buildings throughout the city.
08-329 Motion presented by Councillor Haas: That the Mayor request the Traffic Commission to increase the signal time at the intersection of Malden Street and Broadway. More time is needed for vehicles turning onto Broadway.
08-330 Motion presented by Councillor Guinasso: That the Mayor request the DPW to install a guardrail at 147 Rumney Road and Larkin Street in the interest of public safety. Serious accidents have occurred at this location and residents are fearful of their safety.
